My Best Shot
“In the past eight years,” says Leo Hirshfeld of Malibu, “my wife and I have traveled extensively and have visited all seven continents, including Antarctica and Africa. I have taken several thousand shots, including this one that I got this summer in the Galapagos Islands: a male frigate bird in full display trying to attract a mate with his pouch fully inflated and his wings spread. This was only one of many such birds we saw--some of the fields had turned red with their numbers.”
