Syncor International Posts Profit of $1.2 Million
Syncor International Corp., a Chatsworth operator of nuclear pharmacies, said its profit for the third quarter that ended Sept. 30 was $1.2 million, compared to a loss of $1.1 million for the same period of 1994.
Sales for the third quarter decreased slightly to $81 million, down from $81.6 million a year earlier.
For the first nine months of this year, the profit was $3.5 million, more than doubling the year-earlier figure of $1.7 million. Sales for the nine months grew by 4% to $247.3 million from $238.3 million the year before.
The company said a supplier opted to stop selling its products through Syncor pharmacies causing a $4.5-million loss in gross sales in the third quarter.
