SOUTHERN SECTION ROUNDUP : TRI-VALLEY LEAGUE
Carpinteria 42, Fillmore 7--The Warriors clinched their 33rd Tri-Valley League title by winning at Carpinteria.
The Warriors (8-2, 4-0) dominated the game with running backs Jeff Shaw and Douglass Burrell. Shaw scored three touchdowns on runs of one, two and 10 yards. He ended the game with 84 yards in 16 carries. Burrell added a touchdown on a five-yard run early in the fourth quarter. He ended the game with 121 yards in 13 carries.
The lone bright point for the Flashes (4-6, 1-3) came with 18 seconds to go in the fourth quarter, when running back Adrian Golson scored on a two-yard run after a fumble recovery by Hugo Garnica gave them the ball at the Warrior 32.
