Downey Calvary Chapel 19, Capistrano Valley Christian 14--The Eagles held a 14-12 lead late into the fourth quarter, but Calvary Chapel scored on a 50-yard pass with 2:18 remaining.
Capistrano Valley Christian (4-4) had a chance to regain the lead, but a pass by quarterback Wayland Williams was intercepted at the Eagles’ 40-yard line to end the final drive.
In an eight-man Southern Section playoff game:
Heritage Christian 50, Colton Christian Center Academy 0 (mercy rule)--David Acheson rushed four times, scoring on three of the carries for 108 yards to lead Heritage Christian to a first-round victory.
