SAN DIEGO--The holiday season is fair season, and there are plenty of those coming up around the state. The seventh annual Holiday Avenues of the Arts street fair, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 18-19, offers a spectrum of handmade treasures, live music, kids’ activities and artist demonstrations. BAKERSFIELD--The Holiday Street Fair and Festival of Cars is 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 19 on Chester Avenue, between 17th and 22nd streets, downtown. Highlights at the free event include a farmers’ market, pony rides and a model train show. ($1). (805) 325-5892.
SONORA--There’s holiday fun in the Mother Lode Country at the 21st annual Sonora Christmas Craft and Music Festival ‘95, Nov. 24-26. In addition to 250 artisans, the festival features live music and seasonal entertainment. $5, general; $4, seniors; $1, kids 6-12; free for those under 6. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Saturday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. SANTA CRUZ--There is a Victorian theme to the 1995 Santa Cruz Christmas Craft and Gift Festival, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 24-26.
