MCA Names Music Executives: As expected, the reorganization of MCA Music Entertainment Group kicked into gear with the appointment of respected industry veterans Melvyn R. Lewinter as vice chairman and Zach Horowitz as president of the corporation’s global music division. In addition, MCA Music Chairman Doug Morris elevated Jay Boberg, the head of MCA’s music publishing sector, to president of the firms’ flagship label, MCA Records. Lewinter arrives at MCA after working 25 years at Warner Music Group. Horowitz assumes his new post after 12 years at MCA.
