2 Lancaster Men Killed in Collision
LANCASTER — Two Lancaster men were killed and three people were seriously injured Wednesday when a car ran through a stop sign and was broadsided by a pickup truck, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials said.
The victims, whose names were withheld pending notification of relatives, were the driver and front seat passenger of a car that was headed north on 40th Street East and apparently did not halt at the stop sign at Avenue I, Lt. Art Valenzuela said. It was hit by the westbound pickup about 2:50 p.m., he said.
The 30-year-old Lancaster man driving the pickup suffered serious injuries, as did two teen-agers, 14 and 17, in the back seat of the car.
The two men died at the scene, Valenzuela said.
