William G. Moore; Former Publisher
William G. Moore, 85, former publisher and columnist of the Redlands Daily Facts. Moore’s family bought into the newspaper five years after it was established in 1890. Moore and his younger brother, Frank, who served as editor, wrote a regular column under a joint byline. They prided themselves on running the family newspaper in complete harmony until they sold it to the Donrey Media Group in 1981. Moore was a graduate of Stanford University and active in Republican Party politics, leading San Bernardino County’s campaign for Richard M. Nixon for U.S. Senate. Also known as a philanthropist in the Inland Empire, Moore contributed generously to the Redlands Community Hospital and established his own Moore Historical Foundation. On Monday in Redlands, Calif.
