SOUTH COUNTY : Training Exercises May Shake Things Up
Residents may hear loud booms or feel the ground shake today during training exercises at Camp Pendleton.
The blasts will be caused by F/A-18 aircraft dropping 500-pound bombs in an impact area in the center of the Marine base.
The aircraft will be training from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be heard as far as 50 miles away.
