Minnesota Viking backup defensive end James Harris was arrested and jailed in Minneapolis in connection with an assault on his wife.
Harris, 27, was booked into the Hennepin County jail on suspicion of third-degree assault and being held Saturday pending formal charges.

The New Jersey man charged in last weekend’s snowball hurling incident at Giants Stadium was convicted in 1991 of assaulting two police officers, the New York Daily News reported Saturday.
Jeffrey Lange was arrested in 1990 on charges of making terrorist threats, aggravated assault and resisting arrest after a run-in with Middlesex borough police, the paper reported.
Lange pleaded guilty to the aggravated assault charge in 1991 and was sentenced to five years’ probation and ordered to enroll in an inpatient alcohol treatment program, according to court records, the paper said.
