Detective, Officer Are Employees of the Year
For their dedication to their work and service to the city, Police Det. Doug Kennedy and Community Services Officer Pam Miller are Fullerton’s employees of the year, and chief planner Joel Rosen is manager of the year.
The three were chosen by their co-workers for the honors.
Kennedy, 35, of Chino Hills, has worked for the Police Department for 12 years. He was cited for his work as the lead investigator on a number of high-profile cases, including a sexual assault, police officials said.
Kennedy also led a team of detectives to Phoenix recently for six days of intensive investigation, where they tracked down and arrested a Fullerton murder suspect accused of killing his stepfather, police said.
Miller, 45, of Yorba Linda, was chosen because of her “can-do” attitude and willingness to pitch in, even after hours, officials said.
Rosen, 38, of Fullerton, has been with the city for 10 years. Officials said he plays a key role in the development and management of housing, solid waste and general-plan programs.
Rosen is also recognized as an expert on air-quality issues and is frequently consulted by other agencies for help with Air Quality Management District regulations and mandates, a city representative said.
