A 17-year-old was arrested Saturday on suspicion of shooting at a Port Hueneme police officer who was issuing a traffic citation.
The incident occurred about noon when Officer Russell Cornwall heard a gunshot from a nearby condominium complex as he issued the citation at West Hemlock Street and Fisher Drive.

Shortly after noon, the juvenile, who was not identified, was arrested in a residence in the 700 block of Hemlock Street and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
