Clues to Body Found Near City Hall Sought
CAMARILLO — Investigators are still searching for clues in the death of a Camarillo man whose body was found by gardeners under bushes at Camarillo City Hall, officials said.
Frederick Bacon, 44, who had been missing since Jan. 23, was found dead with a single gunshot wound to his head and a gun next to him, said Velmira Isaac, an investigator with the Ventura County coroner’s office.
The body was discovered Wednesday under a 4-foot-high hedge that separates City Hall from a nearby church, Assistant City Manager Larry Davis said.
“It’s in a location where you wouldn’t notice it,” Davis said.
The body was found after gardeners reportedly smelled a strong odor emanating from that spot, Davis said.
