Half of ‘Thelma, Louise’ Crime Pair Gets 10 Years
HOUSTON — A woman who was part of a duo known as “Thelma and Louise” for luring men on dates and then robbing them has been sentenced to 10 years in jail, prosecutors said.
Joyce Stevens, 31, pleaded guilty and gave a detailed confession to be used in the trial of her alleged partner in crime, Rose Marie Turford, Assistant Dist. Atty. Dan Rizzo told reporters.
Police investigators called the women “Thelma and Louise” after the movie in which two women go on a crime spree.
Stevens pleaded guilty to three charges of aggravated robbery stemming from incidents last year. Jury selection began Friday in Turford’s trial on the same charges.
