1996 Prep Golf Preview : Six Teams to Watch : Sunny Hills

1995: 14-0 in a freelance schedule; finished fourth at the section team final and sixth at the CIF-SCGA Championship.

Outlook: The Lancers, who won the section title in 1994, couldn’t repeat last year with virtually the same team, but they will get another chance. Although Jenny Lee graduated and is playing at Texas, Sunny Hills is still loaded. Noe won the 1994 U.S. Junior Amateur and Jin Park recently played in the Nissan Open. Mike Kim and John Park are also more than solid, and Schmidt is one of the better players in the Southland for his age. The question is whether the Lancers will perform up to their potential this time. Devaney thinks they will: “I think their attitude toward this year will be a little more perseverant.”
