1996 Prep Golf Preview : Six Teams to Watch : Estancia

Outlook: Estancia, which won three consecutive Southern Section team titles (1989, ‘90, ‘91), should be a strong challenger to reach the team final for the first time since 1992. Estancia teams are always well-prepared for the postseason and usually peak in May. Art Perry says this team is playing at least as well as some of his championship teams, but that the competition has improved. “Santa Margarita and Sunny Hills weren’t around four or five years ago,” Perry said. The Eagles are a solid seven deep, led by 1995 league champion Necessary, 1994 champion Mike Perry and three-time all-league pick Krutzik. “All seven of the guys were all-league players, first or second team, the past two years,” Art Perry said.
