Comment Sought on Development’s Impact Report
The county Planning Commission is seeking public comment on a new report about the likely environmental impact of a 318-unit housing project proposed near Santiago Canyon and Live Oak Canyon roads.
Some local residents have opposed the 222-acre development, saying it would damage an environmentally sensitive area. They favor a scaled-down plan for about 100 homes.
Officials of TPG Management Inc. in Newport Beach, the project coordinator, said that the housing tract, known as Saddleback Meadows, would leave more than 50% of the acreage as open space.

Copies of the environmental impact report are available at local libraries, including branches in Silverado Canyon, Mission Viejo and Lake Forest.
