Water Rates Set to Rise by 10.6%
Manhattan Beach water rates are scheduled for an increase to fund renovation of the city’s 50-year-old water system and to cover inflation increases in water costs during the next few years.
As of May 1, monthly water, sewer and storm drain charges will increase by 10.6%, raising a household’s rate a maximum of about $2.70, city public works director Neil Miller said. Rates will jump by 9.3% in 1997 and 7.7% in 1998.
