FRESNO--Quilts, antiques and other treasures take center stage at the 29th annual Mennonite Sale and Auction, April 12-13 at Fresno Pacific College, 1717 S. Chestnut St. In addition, there are food booths, games for kids, an art exhibit, and baking, quilting and spinning demonstrations. Friday-night events include a quilt preview and antiques auction. LANCASTER--The California Poppy Festival is 9 a.m.-5 p.m. April 13-14 in Lancaster City Park, 43011 N. 10th St. West. Highlights include more than 250 arts and crafts and fine arts booths, children’s activities, free shuttle rides to the Poppy Reserve, environmental displays, entertainment on two stages and much more. $2, general; $1, kids under 12 and seniors. SAN FRANCISCO--The San Francisco Cherry Blossom Festival, a springtime celebration of Japanese culture, is April 13-14 and 19-21 at various locations in Japantown. Highlights include an arts and crafts fair, food bazaar and entertainment, both weekends; Children’s Village, April 13-14, and the Grand Parade, 1 p.m. April 21. TWENTYNINE PALMS--The fourth annual Joshua Tree National Park Art Festival is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. April 13-14 and 20-21.
