Lee, from Mater Dei, started the season as the backup to returning all-conference shortstop Poncho Ruiz. But Lee, given an early chance when Ruiz was bothered by a sore shoulder, has yet to stop hitting. Lee, who also has played third and been the designated hitter, went 10 for 15--including five for five against Southwestern--as Fullerton won four times in its tournament. Lee started this week hitting .419 and has scored 26 runs in 26 games.
