Man Sentenced for Possessing Child Porn
A Studio City man was sentenced Monday to a year in county jail after police found child pornography in his apartment during an unrelated drug search.
Edward Goldstein, 49, pleaded no contest in Los Angeles Municipal Court to one count of possessing pornographic materials, which included torn pages from magazines and 8-millimeter film depicting children under the age of 14 performing sexually explicit acts, prosecutors said.
Goldstein was first charged July 19 after Los Angeles Police Department narcotics officers served a search warrant at his Studio City apartment. During the search, officers discovered child pornography there which led to the serving of a second search warrant the same day by the department’s Sexually Exploited Child Unit, said Ted Goldstein, spokesman for the city attorney.
“They acted swiftly because they did not want to give the defendant time to destroy the evidence,” said Goldstein.
