Barbara Caplan; Activist and Assembly Aide
Barbara Caplan, 50, community activist and political aide to Assemblyman Wally Knox (D-Los Angeles). A native of Los Angeles, Caplan was educated at Fairfax High School and UCLA. In her community, she led efforts to divert commercial traffic away from residential areas to protect children. She had been chief of staff of the Democratic legislator’s Los Angeles office. On May 4 in Los Angeles of cancer.
