U.N. Problems to Be Topic on Weekend
Los Alamitos High School will host its first Model United Nations Novice Security Council Conference this weekend.
High school students from Orange and Los Angeles counties will sit on panels that will discuss potential solutions and peacekeeping missions in the troubled areas of Rwanda, the western Sahara and the former Yugoslavia.
The event will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the school, 3591 Cerritos Ave.
The conference is sponsored by parents and students of the school’s Booster Club for the Model of the United Nations. Information: (310) 799-4813.
