Riverside’s Lucero Wins Speedway Event

COSTA MESA —  Steve Lucero of Riverside won the four-lap scratch main event in front of 4,814 in the weekly speedway motorcycle program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Robert Pfetling of La Habra was second and Gary Hicks of Riverside was third, followed by Shawn McConnell of Brea and Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa.

Jerry Black of San Bernardino won the eight-lap handicap main event. Schwartz was second, and McConnell was third. Lucero was fourth and Hicks was fifth.
