ISRAEL : Blockade of Gaza, West Bank to Ease

Israel said it will ease its blockade of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, imposed nearly five months ago at the start of a series of suicide bombings in the country. A Cabinet statement announcing the decision cited the “economic distress” of ordinary Palestinians under the closure. The announcement came two days before talks between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
