Boy, 14, Charged in Mother’s Death
A 14-year-old Glendale boy who allegedly admitted shooting his mother in the forehead last week was charged with murder Tuesday, and prosecutors said they will seek to try him as an adult.
The boy, whose name is being withheld because of his age, is expected to be arraigned today at Pasadena Juvenile Court.
The youth was arrested moments after the shooting last Friday afternoon and has remained in custody. Police arrested him outside Glendale High School after a dispatcher received a 911 call in which the youth allegedly admitted shooting and killing his mother, Tinann Turner Davidson, 52.
Police investigators went to the family condominium on Sinclair Avenue and found Davidson’s body slumped over the dinner table. She had been shot once in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police recovered a .38-caliber revolver from the bushes outside the complex.
