Ordinary Folks Have a Right to Divergent Opinions

The revelation that radio talk show hosts speak rationally and sensibly and have intelligent, knowledgeable audiences may come as a shock to liberals who despise their popularity, but only reaffirms what listeners have known all along (“Print Media Fair to Talk Radio Cousins?” Aug. 15).

The major media’s focus on politicians and special interest groups, and their lack of inclusiveness and diversity of opinion contrasts with talk radio, which allows ordinary people to have a voice on issues such as illegal immigration, welfare and taxation.

Obviously, what liberals resent is not the occasional hyperbole or satiric irony heard on talk radio, but the fact other people believe differently than they do.
