Coastal Panel’s Decision Is Ironic
Re “Marines’ Plan for Beach Housing Is Rejected,” Aug. 15:
Is it just me or does anyone else see the irony in the decision the California Coastal Commission issued? They rejected 128 houses on the bluffs above “coastal wetlands,” yet this same commission approved the construction of 3,000 homes for the Koll Real Estate Group on the Bolsa Chica wetlands in Huntington Beach.
Let’s give the Marines 128 houses at Bolsa Chica and reject the Koll project!

* Considering that the environmental scorecard of our coastal congressmen (Dana Rohrabacher, Christopher Cox and Ron Packard) resembles one big, hollow sea gull egg, the Coastal Commission’s decision to reject the Marine Corps’ plan for beach housing at Trestles is . . . awesome!
