Selby of UCLA Volleyball Team Transfers to California
Amanda Selby, a middle blocker on the UCLA women’s volleyball team, has transferred to California.
The 6-foot-2 Selby was The Times’ Valley-area high school player of the year in 1994 while playing at Harvard-Westlake High.
Football
Cal State Northridge offensive lineman Gabe Fernandez, a transfer from Chabot College, was declared academically ineligible, Coach Dave Baldwin said.
Fernandez has not been with the team since failing to attend classes last semester, Baldwin said.
Devon Rose, starting linebacker for Granada Hills High last season, has transferred to North Hollywood.
Soccer
Junior defender Kristi Tynan of Cal State Northridge suffered a broken collarbone in practice and will miss six weeks. An El Camino College transfer, Tynan started last week against Cal State L.A.
Junior forward Rhiannon Clow will not play today against Arizona State in the Loyola Marymount tournament because of an irregular heartbeat.
