Steve Allen to Appear on KCLU-FM Show
Cal Lutheran University’s KCLU-FM (88.3) will feature a guest appearance this weekend by comedian Steve Allen, credited with creating NBC’s “Tonight Show” 43 years ago.
Allen will appear on the National Public Radio affiliate’s “Jazz Routes” program, hosted by Cary Ginell, on Sunday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
In addition to his work on television, Allen is the author of more than 5,900 songs and musical compositions and a veteran jazz pianist. He has also written 48 books.
Allen will discuss his starring role as clarinetist Benny Goodman in the 1956 film “The Benny Goodman Story,” and play selections from his many albums on the program.
