Driver Thrown From Truck Dies
SAN CLEMENTE — A 32-year-old man died Sunday from injuries he suffered Thursday when he was thrown from his pickup truck during a traffic accident, officials said.
Bernard John Jennings was driving west on Camino de Los Mares at Calle Agua about 11:20 a.m. Thursday when he clipped a van while trying to maneuver around it, said supervising Deputy Coroner Ted Sullivan.
Jennings was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, Sullivan said.
After the crash, Jennings was taken to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo. He died about 1 p.m. Sunday, Sullivan said.
The crash remains under investigation.
