Supervisorial candidates Todd Spitzer and Mark Leyes are the leaders in campaign contributions for the November election, according to financial records filed Monday.

In the 3rd District race, Spitzer leads his opponent, veteran Assemblyman Mickey Conroy (R-Orange), in total money raised, $198,000 to $143,000.

Spitzer, of Brea, raised nearly $79,000 in the period from July 1 through Sept. 30, compared to Conroy’s nearly $67,000 in that same period, the records show.

However, Spitzer’s total contributions includes $106,000 of his own savings--$20,000 since July 1--that he has loaned to his campaign.

In the 1st District race, Leyes raised $58,000 between July 1 and Sept. 30, bringing his total to $117,393. The Garden Grove councilman has $55,000 on hand.
