Case Closed: Six months after federal investigators raided the headquarters of Litton Industries, the U.S. Department of Justice announced it has closed its criminal investigation of the Woodland Hills company (D1). . . . Last Minute: With the deadline for voter registration looming, CSUN transformed its central quad into a political arena Monday. Riding Tall: Sgt. Marissa Bradsher, left, and Lance Cpl. Kristen Bock ride with the California Rangers, an organization that strives to teach its members, ages 9 to 19, skills ranging from horsemanship to job-interview skills (B14). . . . “Discipline these days is lacking in a lot of homes,” said Sharon Horan, a troop captain. “This is a real structured organization.”
Manhunt: The California Highway Patrol has yet to catch the freeway vandals who have destroyed the rear windshields of more than 200 motorists on Southern California freeways (B10). . . . And the search is getting more complicated: Officials now believe they are pursuing more than one perpetrator. Said Capt. Ray Blackwell, “I would speculate that there have been numerous copycatters.”
