Eiddon Edwards; Expert on King Tutankhamen

Eiddon Edwards, 87, a leading authority on the 3,200-year-old relics of King Tutankhamen. Educated at Cambridge University, Edwards joined the British Museum in 1934 and was keeper of Egyptian antiquities there from 1955 until his retirement in 1974. He was the principal organizer of the museum’s exhibition of Tutankhamen treasures in 1972. His influential book, “The Pyramids of Egypt,” first published in 1947, describes technical means believed to have been used in building the pyramids. Edwards also wrote “Tutankhamen: His Tomb and Its Treasures” in 1976. On Sept. 24 in London.
