DiPietro Returns to Scene of Glory

It may be a new building--not the old Montreal Forum but the new Molson Centre--but King center Paul DiPietro will be returning to the city of his greatest triumph when the Kings play the Canadiens on Wednesday.

That, of course, was at the expense of the Kings in the 1993 Stanley Cup finals when DiPietro played for Montreal. He had two goals and six points in five games. He was traded to Toronto in the 1994-95 season before joining the Kings as a free agent in July.

Three King defensemen are sidelined for the three-game trip--Philippe Boucher, Jan Vopat and Steven Finn. Finn, recovering from a stress fracture in his lower right leg, is the most experienced of the three. This is his 12th NHL season.
