In Anaheim’s first three games, Gomez passed for an average of 258 yards, but the Colonists had nothing to show for it. Friday, therefore was doubly special for Gomez. He set the county single-game passing record, throwing for 504 yards and four touchdowns and leading the Colonists to their first victory, 51-27, over Cypress.

* Irvine, senior. Caught 11 passes for 198 yards and three touchdowns and gained 356 all-purpose yards in a 35-30 loss to Mater Dei.
