Radinsky Signs Two-Year Deal; Gagne Says He Wants to Stay

Left-handed reliever Scott Radinsky, who two years ago wondered if he’d ever pitch again after learning he had Hodgkin’s disease, signed a two-year, $1.8-million contract Wednesday with the Dodgers.

Radinsky, 28, was 5-1 with a 2.42 earned-run average as a setup man for closer Todd Worrell. The Dodgers now will try to sign fellow free-agent left-hander Mark Guthrie and have scheduled a meeting early next week.

The Dodgers also re-signed backup catcher Tom Prince and free-agent infielder Chip Hale to one-year contracts and confirmed they picked up the $3.75-million option on Worrell’s contract.

Shortstop Greg Gagne’s agent, Michael Moye, also told the Dodgers that Gagne wants to return to the Dodgers rather than file for free agency.

Hale set a Minnesota Twin franchise record in 1996 with 19 pinch-hits.
