The Ventura Chamber of Commerce and the Ventura County Ad Club next week will co-host Ad Expo ‘96, an advertising trade show targeting the area’s business community.

Ad Expo ’96 is designed to showcase the creative talent in Ventura County, said Chuck Smith, president of Clas-E-Fax and co-chairman of the marketing committee for the trade show.

“The goal is to show the community in Ventura County that we have the capability to put together complete advertising and marketing packages,” Smith said.

Many business owners believe they need to go to Los Angeles to find good advertising, but there are plenty of local firms that have won national and international advertising awards, he said.

Exhibitors--ranging from Agoura Hills to Santa Barbara--will include printers, designers, advertisers, photographers and media.

Ad Expo ’96 will kick off with a media auction and wine-tasting Wednesday at 5 p.m. The trade show itself will begin at noon Thursday. There also will be a series of seminars on marketing, promotions and the Internet throughout the day.
