The Conejo Jewish Academy is kicking off its “Windows of the Soul” adult education program later this month.

The fall semester, which begins the week of Nov. 18, offers more than two dozen classes, courses, lectures and workshops ranging from the basics of Judaism to classes on the mystical dimensions of the soul and basic kabbalistic wisdom.

On Monday nights there is a class on the Torah and a six-part “Prayer Series,” which focuses on understanding some of the most famous Jewish prayers.

On Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. there is a course for teenagers who have had their bar or bat mitzvah that features Torah study integrated with discussions.

At 8 p.m. on Wednesdays, Rabbi Moshe Bryski will teach a class on the book of Genesis entitled “Adam and Eve--the Challenge Beyond,” which invites participants to “delve into the awesome depths and infinite wisdom inherent in the Torah.” There will be a second Wednesday night class, held at the same time, called “Maintaining Tradition in the ‘90s” led by Rabbi Shlomo Bistritzky that will work to show how ancient traditions are relevant today.

Thursday night classes at 8 p.m. will focus on the beauty and brilliance of the Talmud.

In addition, the academy has already begun its two Lunch ‘n’ Learn programs. Every Tuesday participants have lunch and discuss ethics, while the Wednesday lunch program focuses on the book of Genesis.
