Freeman’s Touchdowns Lift Lancers

Travis Freeman scored four touchdowns to lead Orange Lutheran to a 56-13 victory over Calvary Chapel in Olympic League football action Saturday night at Brea Olinda High.

Freeman scored the first three times he touched the ball on runs of 19, nine and 11 yards as the Lancers built a 42-6 halftime lead. He added a 72-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

Nick Odenath threw three touchdown passes in the first half for Orange Lutheran (8-1, 4-0 in league). He hit Jeff Renevier with a 20-yard touchdown pass for the first score of the game and connected on two scoring passes of 20 and 39 yards to Mike Crawford in the second quarter.

Calvary Chapel (0-8-1, 0-4) averted a shutout when Luke Clardy recovered a fumble in the end zone late in the second quarter. Patrick Salyer blocked the conversion try.

The Lancers scored their final touchdown in the third quarter on a 19-yard run by Matt Slane.

Calvary Chapel added a touchdown in the final minute of the game on a 40-yard pass from Dan Murrietta to Rico Andino.

Odenath completed 10 of 13 passes for 149 yards for the Lancers. Freeman finished with six carries for 118 yards.

Dee Meza had two interceptions to pace the Orange Lutheran’s defense.

Orange Lutheran can wrap up the Olympic League title with a victory over Brethren Christian at Artesia High on Friday in the league finale.
