Esperanza 3, Rancho Cucamonga 0--Amy Nihipali had 14 kills for host Esperanza (11-4), which won, 15-3, 15-1, 15-8.
In Division I-A first round:
Aliso Niguel 3, Downey 1--Jane Griffin had 10 blocks for Aliso Niguel (11-5), which advanced with a 15-3, 15-5, 12-15, 15-13 victory at home.
Century 3, Downey Warren 0--Allison Napier had 27 kills and Debbie Arostigue had four aces for Century (12-6), which won, 15-9, 15-8, 16-14.
In Division II-AA first-round:
Villa Park 3, Sunny Hills 0--Andrea Reid had 12 kills and Jessica Koopman 10 for Villa Park (12-5), which won, 15-4, 15-7, 15-2.
In Division II-A first round:
Cypress 3, Los Amigos 0--Michelle Woiemberghe had 15 kills and Ann Buch had five aces for host Cypress, which won, 15-1, 15-7, 15-2. Cypress plays Foothill Thursday.
Foothill 3, Katella 0--Maura Logan had 11 kills for host Foothill (12-3), which won, 17-15, 15-4, 15-11.
Laguna Hills 3, Garden Grove 0--Tayyiba Haneef and Reagan Traut each had five kills for Laguna Hills (12-4), which won, 15-8, 15-4, 15-13.
Santa Margarita 3, Hesperia Sultana 0--Kiki Maroutsos had nine kills for the second-seeded Eagles (10-5), who won, 15-3, 15-2, 15-4. Santa Margarita plays at Ridgecrest Burroughs (8-5) Thursday.
Valencia 3, Tustin 1--Erin Dedic had 14 kills and Roxana Stumpf added 12 in Valencia’s 15-5, 15-9, 8-15, 15-3 victory. Jessica Bartterhad 44 assist for the Tigers (17-0), who play at Laguna Hills Thursday. Tustin finished the season 8-9.
In Division III-AA first round:
Western 3, Bolsa Grande 0--Jennifer White had 30 assists and Adrienne Ratajczak had 17 kills for visiting Western (11-5), which won, 15-11, 15-11, 15-7. The Pioneers advanced to play second-seeded Ocean View.
In the Division II wild-card water polo playoffs:
Tustin 11, Los Amigos 4--Senior Mike Foley teamed with junior Jonathan Smalley for a combined total of nine points for host Tustin, which had an 8-1 lead at the end of the second quarter. Nathanial Foth had two goals for Los Amigos. The Tillers (11-15) travel to Los Alamitos Friday for a first-round game.
Sunny Hills 11, Cypress 10--Edwin Barrera scored with 33 seconds remaining to give Sunny Hills the victory at home. Jeff Garand led the Lancers (13-13) with four goals. Sunny Hills plays at Servite Thursday.
In a Division VI wild-card game:
Cerritos 10, Valencia 8--Brett Davis scored four goals to lead Valencia (10-15), which fell behind by two at the half and couldn’t catch visiting Cerritos.
