A 12-Year-Old’s Call to Help Homeless

I am very concerned about the way the government is treating homeless people. I am 12 and just on a basic level I think it is important that we help these people.

If you are homeless because you made the wrong choices along the way, got involved in drugs, and did not take advantage of rehab programs, that’s one thing. You still should have an opportunity to get help. However, since you made bad choices along the way, you should not be the first one in line for help.

The first in line should be the people who were born homeless, who did not have a chance to make good choices or enjoy even the most simple pleasures. These are the people who did nothing to deserve what they got. We can help these people by not only giving them shelter and food, but trying to find them a decent job.
