Victims of Home Invasion Capture 2 Men After Slaying
A trio of robbers invaded a Los Angeles home and killed a man late Saturday, but two of the intruders were captured within minutes after their victims fought back with fists, kitchen knives and a machete, police said.
Raul Dominguez, 25, was shot to death about 11 p.m. when three men wearing ski masks and carrying handguns and a sawed-off shotgun entered the victim’s home in South-Central Los Angeles.
After Dominguez was shot, several of the 15 people in the dwelling attacked the gunmen and captured two of them, officers said.
Milton Ceballos, 19, and Alvaro Avila, 22, were held until police arrived. The men, who were treated for injuries suffered in the scuffle, were being held Sunday night on murder charges in the jail ward of Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.
Police said that during the fight, one of the gunmen managed to get out of the home and flee in a red two-door Toyota driven by a fourth man.
