Roberts’ Injury Worries Fitch
Clipper Coach Bill Fitch fears that center Stanley Roberts, who played only 16 minutes in a 106-95 loss to the New Jersey Nets last Saturday at the Pond of Anaheim because of a back/hip injury, may be out for awhile.
“The prognosis on him isn’t good,” Fitch said. “There’s something wrong with the back. You have to check with [team physician Tony Daly] about what his immediate plans for him are, but I heard enough to know that I didn’t want to hear anymore.”
Clipper trainer Ray Melchiorre said it’s premature to speculate that Roberts, who’ll be examined today by Daly, will miss any games.
