Teens Indicted in Infant Son’s Death
A grand jury indicted two 18-year-olds on first-degree murder charges in the death of their infant son shortly after his birth in a motel room Nov. 12. Amy Grossberg and Brian Peterson, who grew up in affluent suburbs of northern New Jersey, were charged with intentionally causing the death of the baby and murder by abuse or neglect. They face a possible death penalty if convicted. Police found the infant’s body wrapped in a plastic bag in a dumpster behind the motel in Newark, Del. The state medical examiner reported that the baby had died of “multiple skull fractures, blunt-force head trauma and shaking.”
