Racist Flier Appears; 5 Students Suspended
YORK, Pa. — Five vocational school students were suspended after a flier describing a hunting season on black people was circulated on campus.
The racist flier, purportedly a notice to hunters from state fish and wildlife officials, referred to numerous stereotypes about black people and included nearly two dozen racial slurs.
M. Baba Whisler, president of the local chapter of the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People, said the group would work with school officials to ease racial tensions at the school in southeastern Pennsylvania.
