Drug Laws

I say hooray for Marvin A. Gluck’s letter on Dec. 16. Those who can’t see the correlation between the alcohol prohibition until the early 1930s and the gang warfare we are experiencing today are ignoring the fact that history repeats itself.

Perhaps our political nation has too much invested in the maintenance of jails, payoffs to informers and lack of accountability to take the tough choice and do the right thing: work hard toward the legalization of drugs (and prostitution). It is time that we as a nation give up on the prospect of legislated morality.
