Fitch Extends Holiday Break
Clipper Coach Bill Fitch will give the team Christmas Eve off. The NBA forbids teams from working out on Christmas Day.
“We don’t need any more shootarounds or talks, what we need is a good hard, head-knocking practice,” Fitch said.
“I’m not getting soft. I would not do that to any team I’ve had, not with the schedule we’ve had. I wouldn’t [mess] anybody’s Christmas up.”
Fitch hopes the time off gives his injured players a chance to heal.

Center Kevin Duckworth, who has been bothered by a sore left heel, was held out of Monday’s game.
“I’m feeling kind of sore, very sore, my foot hurts,” he said. “It’s been bothering me for awhile. I haven’t been getting the job done.
“I can’t jump. It’s a little tender. I don’t cut, I move. Little guys make those sharp turns, I move.”
