IRA Blasts Security Bunker at Courthouse
From Times Wire Reports
An Irish Republican Army team drove past a bunker guarding the main courthouse in the capital, Belfast, and fired what police called an improvised grenade, but the blast caused little damage and missed the police officer inside. The officer--who was in shock--was taken to a hospital, police said. A caller to a Belfast radio station claimed responsibility, using a recognized IRA code word, and added that several other bombs were planted around the city. Police searches caused widespread travel delays but turned up no suspicious devices.
