University of Phoenix Campus Names Pusch V.P.
Dianne M. Pusch, director of the University of Phoenix Southern California campus in Costa Mesa, has been named a vice president. She directs academic affairs, enrollment, finance/accounting and operations for a student body of more than 6,500.
* Thomas L. Gossage has been elected to the board of directors of Fluor Corp. in Irvine. Gossage is the retired chairman and former president and chief executive of Hercules Inc.
* Martin Bean has been named executive vice president of New Horizons Computer Learning Centers Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of New Horizons Worldwide. He joins New Horizons from Novell, where he served as vice president of sales and market development. Robert Shaw has been appointed senior vice president of international operations. He will be responsible for international expansion and development. He was previously director of international development at Mail Boxes Etc. Jeff Frankel was selected new chief information officer and vice president of product development. He was most recently an independent consultant, assisting such clients as Hewlett Packard, NEC Information Systems, Samsung, Weitek Corp. and Xerox Group Communications. Frankel has also been vice president of product management for SuperMac Technology and vice president of product management for Western Digital.
* Bijan R. Kian has joined Global Capital Markets Inc. in Irvine as a principal. He will lead the company’s international division. Kian is the former head of the California Office of Foreign Investment.
* Michael Eldred has been named director, operations development and engineering, for Carl Karcher Enterprises Inc. in Anaheim, overseeing restaurant development and engineering and all dual branding in company operations. Eldred, who has been with the company more than 20 years, was most recently manager of operations development and engineering. Diane Hays-Hoag was appointed director, marketing. In her new position, she will be responsible for Carl’s Jr.’s strategic and tactical marketing plans, regional marketing, media, sales promotions and merchandising services. Hays-Hoag was first hired by CKE in 1994 as manager of brand marketing. Evelyn Obitz has been named director, product development. She has been manager of product development for the last four years.
* Lance Brown has started Enter-Arc Inc., an architectural practice in Costa Mesa. He was formerly a partner at EBTA/Architects in Irvine.
* Jack M. Saladow has been appointed to the newly created position of vice president of marketing and technology for Triad Medical Inc., a Laguna Hills medical products distribution company. He has also been named managing director of the newly formed Triad Consulting Group, formed as the result of a merger between Triad Medical and Pacific Marketing Resources. For the last nine years, Saladow was president of Pacific Marketing.
* Karen A. Brennan has been named vice president of marketing for Coco’s, a regional bakery restaurant chain based in Irvine. She has responsibility for advertising, brand development, in-store merchandising and local marketing programs for the company’s 182 restaurants. Brennan was most recently vice president of marketing and strategic development for Max & Erma’s Restaurants Inc. Prior to that, Brennan was a marketing consultant with Management Horizons Inc.
